Based in Los Angeles, Thrive is a designer and manufacturer of mid-century style furniture and accessories. Although inspired by the classics, the interpretation is clearly modern as are the manufacturing methods. All Thrive furniture is designed and built in LA which is the perfect icing on the cake for these beautiful pieces. I have put the Eisenhower chair on my short list of Danish style chairs that I want to buy. Although I like vintage pieces from the 50′s and 60′s, the modern interpretations are really catching my eye – and no reupholstering is required. No dings and dents either – I know it’s patina – but sometimes you want to dent your own chair. The Eisenhower comes in 25 fabrics and 4 leathers, and is made of 100% solid beech with a walnut stain. My only complaint is that I would like a lighter stain – perhaps almost blond. My guess is that I could special order it. This chair is a steal at $899 (sale right now).
